Brief Description:

Teaching for learning marks the idea that teachers focus on what the learners are doing rather than what the teachers are doing. This is the focus which is adopted by many effective and many experienced teachers. Keeping this thought in mind a workshop on teaching for learning was organized for the teachers of middle school to acquaint them with the three domains of being a teacher: Professional Knowledge and Understanding; Professional Practice; and Professional Values, Relationships and Engagement. The workshop indulged teachers in variety of collaborative tasks and emphasized the fact that while planning teaching for learning, our task as teachers is to focus on the experience for learners, rather on what we are going to say and do. We need to consider the experiences pupils will have and the ways we will support them to learn from those experiences. Almost 30 teachers from middle school attended the workshop and shared a positive feedback about their experiences during the workshop.
