ORIENTATION PROGRAM FOR CLASS VI
Beginning middle school requires students to make great many changes and adjustments, both socially and academically. Students need help and support of parents and teachers to ensure that these changes are met. In the light of same, Ahlcon International School organized Orientation program for class VI on 23rd April, 2016. A formal orientation sets the tone for the type of experiences that would follow. The program assisted all new parents in their ward’s transition to Middle Section and about all the elements important to their child’s success as a student. Ms. Dimple Puri, Incharge, Middle section threw light on aspects of academics, new assessment plan and the need of building up core competencies. She emphasized on the need of empowering the learners for self-exploration so as to become a responsible citizen with deep rooted ethos of Indian culture and traditions. The parents were also updated about various cocurriculur activities by Ms. Sumedha Sodhi through ‘A road map to Holistic Development’. Ms. Namita Bhagat shared details about the code of conduct expected by the students in the Middle Section. Ms. Chetna emphasized upon the pivotal role played by parents in the upbringing of children and in helping them to tide over the cares and concerns related to childhood. Overall the session left an inspiring, empowering and stimulating effect on the audience that instigated the need of teachers and parents to be partners in the progress of the students.
