Bangaluru, Mysore and
Ooty Trip Report
The glory
of gardening: hands in the dirt , head in the sun, heart in nature. To nurture
a garden is to not just to feed on the body but the soul.
Ahlcon
International School believes in learning science from first hand information
through observation at the field. It is much important in making the subject unforgettable
and creates long life understanding. Such practical activity is used for relating
the concepts with actual life and environment.
Keeping
this in mind the school planned a trip to Bengaluru, Mysore and Ooty from 19th May to 23rd May 2016 for students
of middle section, to help students get to the bounty of nature and also
participate in ISA activity Flowers of
Hope -the garden tours. Twenty six students along with two teachers and the
section in charge Ms Dimple Puri went on the trip.
The
students visited the Mysore Brindavan garden, Ooty botanical garden, Dodabetta
tea gardens, they also observed the processing of tea leaves CTC
and the chocolate factory, the fresh tea and delicious chocolate were
and added bonus along with the complimentary cool weather .The
visit to botanical garden in
Bangaluru -The Lal Bagh Garden was of
special relevance as there were many
important species of plants along with the tree planted by our first prime
minister Pandit J.L .Nehru. The students also saw the Vidhan Soudha, and Mysore
Palace which were of historical importance. They had a thrilling time at the
scenic Ooty Lake. The journey through the Bandipur Tiger reserve and Madumalai
National park also taught them about
conservation of wildlife.
It was a pleasure to be able to walk ,observe and
learn among such beautiful trees which
were marked with the Latin scientific names.
This made the parks really amazing, like being in a botany encyclopedia
to love and appreciate the beauty of nature. Students learnt to care for their
environment and to live in harmony with nature.
