VISIT TO OKHLA BIRD SANCTUARY
On the
occasion of Van Mahotsav on Monday 6th July 2015, 40 students of Eco-Club from
Ahlcon International School were taken to Okhla Bird Sanctuary situated in Sector-37 Noida, Uttar Pradesh for
tree plantation.. It was a golden opportunity for nature
enthusiasts. The students planted saplings and experienced the beauty and
co-existence of plants and birds in peace and harmony. They took part in a quiz
on flora and fauna and were also told about the history of Van Mahotsav started
by Mr.KN Munshi the Agriculture Minister in the year 1950. Van Mahotsav is celebrated
during rainy season because that is the time when tree plantation really works.
Students enjoyed an informative game and creative skills tested with a write-up
on forests. The children walked around the sanctuary observing the various
plants and birds and crossed a bamboo bridge which added to their adventurous
trip. The members
of Eco-Club returned infused with knowledge and a memorable journey in the lap
of Nature.
